“Moreover,” Steve continues, “it’s wise to name a successor executor in case your primary choice is unable or unwilling to serve. This safeguards against unforeseen circumstances and ensures a smooth transition.”
Notwithstanding the importance of personal connections, Steve emphasizes that professional executors, such as trust companies or attorneys, can also be excellent choices. They bring expertise and objectivity to the process, which can be particularly valuable in complex estates. “Ultimately,” he concludes, “the best executor is someone trustworthy, responsible, and capable of carrying out your wishes with diligence.”
